What software is needed to use Timesheet Portal?
As a web-based service, Timesheet Portal will run on any standard internet browser including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. It will also work on most mobile phone browsers. As a general rule we recommend using the latest version of google chrome, which ensures compatibility with the latest web standards.

What sort of companies can use Timesheet Portal?
Due to its dynamic features, Timesheet Portal is suitable for all types of businesses. It is suitable for project based organisations requiring time tracking of employees and contractors on projects and tasks, and able to track travel time,etc. It is suitable for non-project based organisations requiring generic staff timesheets, and there is a recruitment agency flavour of the system, suitable for recruitment agencies who want their employees to submit timesheets for approval by a designated manager.

Is it possible to export the timesheet data so it can be imported it into payroll systems?
Yes, as long as your payroll system is able to import from one of the supported formats. Most payroll systems have a mechanism for importing raw data. TimesheetPortal is able to produce timesheet reports in raw formats such as CSV,Excel and Web Archive. You can even select which fields you want exported.

Do I have to install Timesheet Portal to use it?
No. Timesheet Portal is a hosted service (but can be purchased for self-hosting as well). There are no installation procedures or costs. Once you have signed up for an account, you can start using the system straight away. Software upgrades are part of the service, and do not require you to do anything. If you would prefer to host it on your own servers, there is an installable version which requires a Windows-based server and MS SQL database (there is a free SQL version available from Microsoft).

How easy is it to use Timesheet Portal?
Timesheet Portal provides a clean interface which mimics paper timesheets system, so its a no-brainer for employees. There are interactive tutorials which guide you through the configuration process and show you how to produce reports for exporting. Please see our screenshots on the features page for more details.

Can I integrate Timesheet Portal with my HR software?
Yes. We offer a web services (SOAP) API which allows you to synchronise your HR system with the Timesheet Portal database. This feature is part of our standard service. Integrating your software using our API will require some development work from your end. We offer an integration service and can integrate with most databases. If you are interested, please contact us for a quote.

Is my data secure?
If you are using our hosted version, your data is stored a secure data centre. This is protected by CCTV, 24/7 security and very strict security procedures for personnel access. Additionally, there is fire suppression equipment. If there is a power outage, the data centre can continue to run for 30 days.

How do I cancel my free trial?
If you sign up for a free trial, you will be sent a reminder after 3 weeks to let you know your free trial period is almost over. If you do not want to continue using the service after the free trial, you don't need to do anything. Your account will be de-activated after the free trial unless you have entered your billing details and chosen to sign up for the full service.
