More About Timesheet Approval Delegation Feature
The key appeal of this functionality is in its ability to allow you to delegate timesheet approval from one person to another for a specific period of time. This means you don't have to worry about reversing back to the original settings if the change of an approver is temporary. Instead, on the set date, the software will return your setting to what they were prior to the update.
To make use of this great time-saving feature, just edit the approver you wish to delegate approval from, and look on the Main Details tab. Set the delegated approver and then enter the dates during which automatic delegation should occur.
Your timesheet submitters will also see in their approver drop-down that the approval is being delegated. This is a measure put in place to avoid confusion upon seeing a name different from the usual approver.
To gauge the full benefit of this feature think about it in the following way: if you have 100 employees having their timesheet approved by someone who goes on holiday, only one change is required.
