Stepping Away from Military Time

military time option

We have improved our system to better serve users worldwide. Since some countries use the military time system while others prefer the AM/PM system, we now offer both options available on Timesheet Portal. Previously, it was only possible to record time using a 24-hour clock.

Although neither of the time recording systems is better or worse than the other, we recognise it can cause confusion when you’re not used to interpreting time in a particular way. Instead of enforcing the European method, we now permit our customers, both local and international, to choose the option that best suits them. We believe this will be a welcomed change for companies with employees around the world.

Record Time in AM/PM

Whether it’s a personal preference or you’ve noticed your employees making mistakes due to a different time recording format, you no longer need to worry about adapting to it. Instead, let Timesheet Portal adjust to your needs. From now on, you can choose whether you prefer tracking time using the 24-hour system or a 12-hour cycle. All it takes is a couple of clicks.

To initiate the change, follow this path: Settings > Timesheets > Submission tab. Scroll down and, under 'Format of time entered for hourly rates’, select 12 hour (use AM/PM). Currently, this will affect all the timesheets in the system. Moving forward, however, we will aim to make it account-specific to offer you greater customisation options.
